Paro – Thimphu

Paro – Thimphu [approx 2hrs/51km]: Upon arrival at Paro airport; our special vehicle will pick you up & proceed to Thimphu. Arrival at Thimphu. Check in to the hotel. Get freshen up. After lunch proceed to visit:

  • Folk Heritage Museum – [09:00am – 05:00pm – Sunday Closed].
  • Traditional Paper Factory
  • Institute for Zorig Chusum (Handi crafts School) also known as the painting school – [09:00am – 05:00pm – Saturday & Sunday Closed].
  • National Institute of Traditional Medicine – [Monday to Friday – 09:00am – 05:00pm & Saturday – 09:00am – 01:00pm – Sunday Closed].
  • Motithang mini zoo where you can see the national animal of Bhutan Takin – [09:00am – 05:00pm].

Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Thimphu

Thimphu: After breakfast complete the permit formalities for Punakha Valley & Haa valley. Later visit:

  • Buddha Point where you can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley. – [09:00am – 05:00pm]. 
  • BBS Tower
  • Tango Monastery. Tango Monastery is a Buddhist college and residence of Desi – [09:00am – 06:00pm].
  • Tenzin Rabgye, a young boy who is the reincarnation of the 16th-century monk who built Tango.
  • King’s Memorial Chorten (Monument) – [09:00am – 05:00pm].
  • Chang Gangkha – one of the oldest monasteries in the valley. – [06:00am – 06:00pm].

Thimphu – Punakha Valley

Thimphu – Punakha Valley [approx 3hrs/85km]: After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Punakha. Take in the splendid views of the Himalayas, listen to the sounds of the Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers that cut through the valley, or simply soak up the serene beauty of this gorgeous valley. Here are the 5 places in Punakha that will convince you that Bhutan is the last Shangri-La:

Punakha – Phobjikha/Gangtey

Punakha – Phobjikha/Gangtey [approx 3hrs/81km]: After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Phobjikha located at an altitude of 3000m. En-route visit:

  • Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. 
  • The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan.

Phobjikha/Gangtey – Haa Valley

Phobjikha/Gangtey – Haa Valley [approx 7hrs/230km]: After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Haa Valley. Haa is a steep north-south valley with a narrow floor. An alternative name for the district is "Hidden-Land Rice Valley." Also visit:

  • White Temple and Indian Army Military Base camp.
  • Traditional Bhutanese Bath - Hot Stone Bath.

Haa Valley – Paro

Haa Valley – Paro [approx 3hrs/64km]: After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Paro visit:

  • Drukgyel Dzong – [07:00am – 06:00pm].
  • Paro Dzong the ruined fortress from where the peak of Mount Chomolhari can be clearly seen. – [March to Oct – 08:00am – 06:00pm & Nov to Dec – 08:00am – 04:30pm].
  • Ta Dzong (National Museum) – Ta-Dzong, an ancient watchtower, which now houses the National Museum. It is located about five and a half kilometers away from the main town of Paro and 500 feet from the Rinpung Dzong located below the museum. Cameras are not allowed inside the museum, but you can photograph the Ta dzong and surrounding grounds.  – [09:00am – 05:00pm]

Paro: Morning proceed to visit:

  • Taktshang Monastery view point (Tiger's Nest). The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss. It will take total 7 hours to climb up and come back. But a beautiful place to visit. – [08:00am – 01:00pm – 02:00pm – 06:00pm]

Paro: After breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to Paro airport to board the flight for hometown.
