Bagdogra - Phuntsholing

Bagdogra Airport – Phuntsholing [approx 4hrs/163km]: Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or NJP railway station; our special vehicle will pick you up & proceed to Phuntsholing. On arrival Check in to the hotel. Get freshen up. If time permits complete the permit formalities for Thimpu or else explore the Local Bhutanese street and market.

The town at the Bhutanese-Indian-Border is divided. The upper third is called Phuntsholing and belongs to Bhutan, the lower two thirds are India's Jaigaon. The border is in the town Centre. Some of the streets are divided with a wall, with a peaceful and clean Bhutanese side and the usual Indian mess on the other side. Normally Local Residents of Phuntsholing who stay near the border come for shopping rather for their day to day needs they come to Jaigaon market. So it adds on to the crowd of Jaigaon streets.

Phuntsholing - Thimpu

Phuntsholing – Thimpu [approx 4hrs/147km]: After breakfast complete the permit formalities if not done on earlier day. Meanwhile you can visit to: 

• Amo Chuu the Crocodile Breeding Centre – [09:00am – 05:00pm]

After permit proceed to Thimpu. En-route visit:

• Karbandi Gompa – [07:00am – 06:00pm]

Then proceed to Thimpu. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Get freshen up.

Thimphu: After breakfast complete the permit formalities for Haa valley. Later visit:

• Buddha Point where you can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley. – [09:00am – 05:00pm].  
• BBS Tower.
• Tango Monastery. Tango Monastery is a Buddhist college and residence of Desi – [09:00am – 06:00pm].
• Tenzin Rabgye, a young boy who is the reincarnation of the 16th-century monk who built Tango.
• King's Memorial Chorten (Monument) – [09:00am – 05:00pm].
• Chang Gangkha – one of the oldest monasteries in the valley. – [06:00am – 06:00pm].

Thimpu - Paro

Thimpu – Paro [approx 2hrs/51km]: After Breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to visit:

• Folk Heritage Museum – [09:00am – 05:00pm – Sunday Closed].
• Traditional Paper Factory
• Institute for Zorig Chusum (Handi crafts School) also known as the painting school – [09:00am – 05:00pm – Saturday & Sunday Closed].
• National Institute of Traditional Medicine – [Monday to Friday – 09:00am – 05:00pm & Saturday – 09:00am – 01:00pm – Sunday Closed].
• Motithang mini zoo Where you can see the national animal of Bhutan Takin – [09:00am – 05:00pm]

Later proceed to Paro.  Enjoy the city tour of Paro which includes:

• Drukgyel Dzong – [07:00am – 06:00pm].
• Paro Dzong the ruined fortress from where the peak of Mount Chomolhari can be clearly seen. – [March to Oct – 08:00am – 06:00pm & Nov to Dec – 08:00am – 04:30pm].

Paro: Morning proceed to visit:

• Taktshang Monastery view point (Tiger's Nest). The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss. It will take total 7 hours to climb up and come back. But a beautiful place to visit. – [08:00am – 01:00pm – 02:00pm – 06:00pm]
